October was such fun month. The children loved learning our Autumn song, not to mention our visit from the firefighters. The Halloween Party really ended the month with lots of fun. A big thanks for all of the treats!
In Religion, the I am Special program continues with activities that help the children develop an awareness of how they are individually special-their names, smiles, hand, feet and movement capabilities. The children will learn that their ability to speak is a gift from God that they an use to talk to their families and friends to offer praise and Thanksgiving to God in prayer and songs. This ties in nicely with our Thanksgiving theme.
We continue on with learning our letters. This month we will focus on letters, H and I. We experience eating the alphabet with honeydew and iceberg lettuce. In Math, we will learn the colors, brown and blue. And, of course, our fine motor activities will include some brown turkeys for Thanksgiving. I’m sure the children will enjoy all of the Thanksgiving stories they will hear.
